Do you like how I’m nonchalanty pretending that you’ve not heard from us for a while, because it’s down to you? It’s not really. It’s us. Again. We’re just so busy working for all our fab clients that we’ve not got time to write here anywhere near as regularly as we’d like to! And it’s not for want of trying, or starting – in fact we’ve got 88 – yes 88 blogs in draft at the moment. That’s because we keep being perfectionists – again, not practising what we preach – about getting content to 80% of where you want it to be, and publishing it !!!!
Anyway, today I’m motivated to take to the blog because our work for two very different clients has come to fruition this week and it’s good to share success – not least because we’re really proud of our contribution to them happening! I know, we’re uber modest ;)
First up, Dr Amanda Gummer, Child Psychologist and darling of the media, has had something come good, which is going to transform her work, and that of the Good Toy Guide. It’s been more than a year in the offing, so we think it’s appropriate to share this, because although we can’t actually tell you what it is, (I know, we’re a tease…) I wanted you to know that really, the best things do come to those who wait, and work patiently, professionally, and appreciate the power of polite persistance. In fact, we’ve had a love in with Amanda and her team on twitter today….
So far anyone who is out there, working hard on their PR, wondering how much longer you have to wait for a partnership to happen, a feature to go live, a celebrity to actually use your product, or for someone to return your call, have faith, think positive and go forward with polite persistance. It really does work. And yes, as soon as we’e able to, we will let you in on what’s happening for Amanda Gummer and her team!
And secondly, we’ve had some more great results come in from our work with Care.com in the UK. Sigrid Daniel – the UK Director, now has a regular column, contributing to Huffington Post. It took months for it to come about and actually happen, including us doorstepping, gifting, leaving loving voicemails and all sorts of unmentionables, but it’s now happening and is a great result. Not least because Sigrid is that person who writes like you want to, on the first draft, without having to think about it. She can do that. The rest of us Muggles, draft and draft. And agonise over it. She can just do it!
And Care.com UK has also had great coverage on the BT.com website which we are really pleased to have contributed to. Again, this was something that took a while to get going, not least because the poor journalist has been poorly, swamped with work and juggling deadlines, but it’s there, live and working really well.
Are you getting the subliminal messages from this blog post yet?
1. Be patient
2. Be positive
3. We’re really good at what we do, but it takes a while to happen, because we’re all about relationships
And on that note, I’m off, to write tomorrow’s to do list, do a sweep of online engagement for clients and to meet up with my family for dinner!
See you online…
