This Twitter (and yes, they do want us to use a capital T, I’ve checked…) infographic from the Wall Blog is really interesting. Not because of the stats that break down the users, but because of the revelation that 40% of accounts that have never tweeted!!
What do I take from this? That businesses and individuals are getting wise to the fact that even if you don’t intend to use a platform, there’s still merit to securing your real estate and your name on a platform. Note, I’m not advocating squatting (that’s claiming the name of a business other than your own and holding them to ransom) but it is good practise to claim accounts. When you go to sell your business, or decide to start using something, you’ll want to have the account there, waiting for you to use, rather than having to think of an alternative, which won’t represent your brand as consistently as your name does.
Do you own your name across all the social media platforms? If you want help with ensuring you’ve got them all, let us know!
